The program administrator still decides eligibility and funding. Free to list. You pay only when you explicitly accept a paid lead you want.

They browse city-organized records and possible matches. Only an administrator can confirm eligibility or funding.

They submit project details with contractor sharing already checked and can uncheck it for program information only. The request does not mean an application was filed or approved.

Every listed match gets a contact-free offer
Every matching contractor listed in the directory for whom we have a usable business email may receive structured city, trade, and program-screening context, whether the listing is claimed or unclaimed. The homeowner's name, email, address, and free-text description stay locked. A free credit changes the price to $0; it does not bypass account eligibility, sign-in, or explicit acceptance.

The first completed acceptance wins
Sign in and accept a free-credit or paid offer. The first eligible contractor to complete acceptance owns the lead. Paid access unlocks only after the displayed one-time charge finalizes. The lead then closes to everyone else, with no other charge or contact disclosure. Ignore any offer at no charge.

Any official-form draft is limited to a small reviewed registry. The homeowner still verifies, completes, and submits directly.

The first eligible contractor whose acceptance and displayed payment finalize owns the lead. The homeowner's name, email, address, and free-text project description unlock only for that contractor, and every other offer closes immediately. Nobody else is charged or receives the details. Not a fit? Ignore this email and pay nothing.

We already show claimed businesses and unclaimed public-record entries so homeowners can find contractors in their city. Your business may already be on the map as an unclaimed listing.
Claiming your listing is free. Search for your business, then complete the link sent to the usable public business email on file. Possession proof is email-only; there is no text-code or manual claim path. It does not establish ownership, licensing, insurance, quality, or endorsement. After possession is verified, a listing with all required profile fields complete and no duplicate, fraud, or contact-revalidation flag activates automatically. If something is missing, your dashboard identifies it. Activation does not grant the Grant-Approved badge, which still requires a separate review, and we can suspend or remove a listing at any time.
No card is required to claim. Your first accepted compatible lead can use a free credit after you sign in and confirm. If you later accept a paid lead, Stripe securely collects a card and finalizes the displayed charge before showing the homeowner's contact.
Your account email, phone, raw license number, insurance document, and billing details remain private; only approved display fields appear publicly. A homeowner's name, email, address, and free-text project description remain private until an authorized acceptance, and we do not sell your contractor account information.

- Why is my business already listed?
- We build unclaimed listings from public licensing records and open business data so homeowners searching their city can find a contractor. A matching unclaimed listing with a usable business email may receive a contact-free project offer, but never the homeowner's actual contact details while it remains unclaimed. Receiving an offer or claiming the listing does not unlock contact. The contractor must become eligible, sign in, explicitly accept, and finish first. An unclaimed listing never carries our Grant-Approved badge. Grant-Approved is The Grant Map's own label after a separate review, not a government endorsement. - What if a lead is junk?
- If an accepted lead has invalid contact information, is a duplicate, or is outside your service area, report it within 7 days. The report is eligible for review, not automatic approval; an approved report may receive a refund or lead credit under our policy.
- Do you take a cut of the job?
- No. We never touch the job value, grant funds, or your invoice. Paid leads that pass the sellability checks range from $20 to $500. The price reflects the job, its scope, the local market, and lead quality, not what you eventually charge. You always see the exact one-time price before accepting. A lead with insufficient core information is not sold at a lower price.
- How many contractors can buy one lead?
- One. Every matching contractor listed in the directory for whom we have a usable business email may receive the contact-free offer, whether the listing is claimed or unclaimed, but only the first eligible contractor to complete acceptance owns the lead. A free-credit acceptance also closes it. Everyone else pays nothing and never receives the homeowner's contact through The Grant Map.
- Can I pause?
- Yes. There is no subscription and nothing recurring. Ignore the teaser emails and you pay nothing. Start accepting again whenever you want. Nothing to cancel.
- How do service areas work?
- You set the cities and trades you cover. We only send you teasers for homeowners whose project and possible funding programs match your area and trade, so you are not paying to look at jobs you would never take.
