The Residential Clean Energy Credit provides a 30% federal income tax credit on the full cost of qualifying clean energy installations including rooftop solar panels, geothermal heat pumps, wind turbines, and battery storage systems. There is no dollar cap on the credit, and unused credit can be carried forward to future tax years. The credit was extended through December 31, 2025.
